Dalton Alan Weise Has Sadly Passed Away: The Moncks Corner community is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Dalton Alan Weise, a beloved 14-year-old who passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Dalton was known for his vibrant personality, academic excellence, and outstanding achievements in rodeo and sports. His sudden death has left an indelible mark on the lives of family, friends, and the entire community.
Funeral services for Dalton Weise will take place at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Freedom Church, with interment following at Oak Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dial-Murray Funeral Home in Moncks Corner.
Born on February 3, 2010, in North Charleston, South Carolina, Dalton was the cherished son of J.D. Weise and Amanda Brewer Weise. He was an honors student at Berkeley High School and an active member of the Junior Beta Club, where his academic achievements were widely recognized. Dalton also found a spiritual home at Freedom Church, participating actively in its community.

Dalton’s passion for rodeo began at an early age, quickly excelling in the sport both locally and nationally. He was a dedicated member of the National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA) and the South Carolina High School Rodeo Association (SCHSRA). His exceptional skills earned him numerous accolades, including being a two-time Bareback Riding Champion and Reserve Bull Riding Champion. Dalton also competed with the Shady Acres Rodeo team and the Rockin G Mafia bull riding team, showcasing his talent and determination in every event.
Recently, Dalton achieved a remarkable milestone in his rodeo career by securing a spot in the prestigious Wrangler Youth Bull Riding (YBR) competition, where he ranked an impressive #9 in the world for youth bull riding. His success and drive made him a rising star within the rodeo community, inspiring his fellow competitors and fans alike.
Beyond his love for rodeo, Dalton excelled in grappling and wrestling. He began his grappling career with Black Force MMA, winning numerous gold medals in various competitions. His wrestling career at Berkeley High School flourished, culminating in a victory at the Lower State Championship while still in the 8th grade.
Dalton’s passions extended beyond sports. He was a devoted fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Green Bay Packers. His personal interests also included hunting with friends and lifting weights with his father, strengthening their bond. Known for his close relationships with family and friends, Dalton left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Dalton leaves behind a loving and supportive family, including his parents, Amanda Brewer Weise and J.D. Weise; his sister, Madisyn Weise; and his brother, Craig Weise of Edgefield. He is also survived by his grandparents, Bonnie & Todd Brewer of Moncks Corner, Sophia Atkinson of Summerville, Dodie Weise of Charleston, and Johnny Weise of Savannah, Georgia.
Dalton’s great-grandparents, Barbara & Tommy Atkinson of Summerville, Brenda Brewer, Larry & Gail Connor of Moncks Corner, and Darlene Weise of Bonneau, mourn his loss, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Dalton’s passing has deeply affected his community. He was not just a talented student and athlete but a shining example of kindness, strength, and determination. His legacy as a young champion in life will continue to inspire those who knew him.
