Death of 11 Year Old Gifton Myle: On a somber Tuesday afternoon in the small village of Francois, Vermont, the lifeless body of 11-year-old Gifton Myle was discovered hanging under his great aunt’s house, leaving the community in deep shock and grief. Gifton was found deceased beneath the ground level of an unfinished house where his great aunt, Nicolelyn Myle, and her son, Kleran Myle, reside on the first floor. Kleran, a 9-year-old Grade 4 student at Buccament Government School, recounted the events leading to the heartbreaking discovery.

According to Kleran, he had seen Gifton tying a rope under the house earlier that day. When Kleran asked what he was doing, Gifton did not reply. Kleran then returned upstairs to watch television. After some time, he went back to check on Gifton and found him unresponsive, hanging from the rope.

Realizing something was terribly wrong, Kleran noticed a deep mark on Gifton’s neck from the rope. Despite his attempts to help by removing the rope, it was too late. “I thought and said, ‘Papa dead’,” Kleran told iWitness News, using a term of affection for his cousin.
