Death: Eliah Scott Gordo of Rexburg, Idaho, Madison High School Baseball Player, Has Sadly Passed Away

Eliah Scott Gordo, born July 25, 2007, in Idaho, has sadly passed away leaving a legacy of joy, love, and remarkable achievements. The eldest of three siblings, Eliah was known for his vibrant spirit and boundless enthusiasm for life. Alongside his twin sister, Jaida, Eliah embraced his role as a leader in his family, filling their lives with love and adventure.

From a young age, Eliah’s passion for sports was evident. While he excelled in football, soccer, and basketball, it was baseball that captured his heart. His dedication to the game was apparent in his impressive career with the MadCats Travel Ball team and the Madison High School Varsity baseball team.

Eliah Scott Gordo pitching skills were exceptional, earning him accolades and attention from college scouts. Notably, his performance at events like the Northwest Invitational and the PBR Idaho State Games Invitational showcased his talent and dedication. Yet, for Eliah, baseball was more than just a sport; it was a source of immense joy and a way to connect with others.

Eliah Scott Gordo magnetic personality extended beyond the baseball field. His ability to forge meaningful connections was evident during his travels, such as a memorable trip to Mexico where he befriended a local boy despite a language barrier. Eliah’s genuine nature and radiant smile made him a cherished friend to many.

Family played a central role in Eliah’s life. He enjoyed special moments with his extended family, including memorable road trips and a month-long adventure in the Dominican Republic. Even while traveling, Eliah’s commitment to baseball remained strong, as he sought out training opportunities and formed friendships with local players.

Known affectionately by many nicknames—E, Yeih, YA-YA, Beans, Coconut, Butterfly, Son, and Guapo—Eliah was a bundle of joy. His love for Takis, fortune cookies, Hot Cheeto Burritos, and music highlighted his vibrant personality. His playful nature, such as blasting his favorite songs during long showers, brought laughter to his family.

In addition to baseball, Eliah enjoyed fishing with his mom and recently developed a love for golf, sharing this passion with his dad in the Dominican Republic. His caring and protective nature shone through in his relationships with his siblings, where he taught valuable life lessons and created lasting memories.

Eliah’s passing has been met with an outpouring of love and support from his community. His legacy of unconditional love, selflessness, and encouragement will forever impact those who knew him. Eliah is survived by his parents, Troy and Brandee Gordo; his twin sister, Jaida Alexis Gordo; his younger brother, Isaiah Cruz Gordo; and a large, loving extended family.

A celebration of Eliah’s life was held on August 21, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Rexburg Stake Center Sports Complex in Rexburg, ID. Attendees honored Eliah by wearing white, and his baseball teammates celebrated his memory by donning their team jerseys. Eliah Scott Gordo will be remembered fondly, his spirit continuing to light up the lives of those who knew and loved him.
