Greta Stoliar Obituary: Greta Stoliar, born in St. Louis, MO on December 26, 1932, at the old Jewish Hospital, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Jerry Stoliar and a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Greta Stoliar was the daughter of the late Ben Schwartz and the late Sylvia (Spelky) Schwartz, and daughter-in-law to the late Nathan Stoliar and the late Belle (Salz) Stoliar. She was the devoted sister of the late Birnadine Birenbaum (the late Paul) and Jeanie Pollock (Neil), and sister-in-law to Eunice Reichman (John).
A dedicated and loving mother, Greta was predeceased by her daughter Robin Lloyd (survived by Mike), and is survived by her children Suzy Klamen (Kelly) and Scott Stoliar (Joellyn). She was a proud “Baubi” to her grandchildren: Ryan (Chelsea), Chad (Lauren), Jake Klamen (partner Mikey), Michael (partner Robyn), Lauren Stoliar, and Nikki Lloyd.

She was also a beloved great-grandmother to Nora Stoliar and Winnie Klamen. Additionally, Greta was a step-grandmother to Sydney Greenberg (partner Josh) and Sony Oliff. She will be missed dearly by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Greta graduated from University City Senior High School and went on to earn a B.A. degree in Education from Washington University. Following her marriage to Jerry, she accompanied him to the Pacific Island of Guam when he was transferred there by the U.S. Navy.
While in Guam, Greta taught 5th grade and later became the Director and Co-Founder of the first Child Care Center and Kindergarten at the Naval Base, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many children and families.

Beyond her dedication to education, Greta had a zest for life. She loved to travel, enjoyed trail hiking, and was an avid reader. One of her favorite retreats was her home away from home at the Lake of the Ozarks, where she created many cherished memories with family and friends.
Greta will be remembered for her kind heart, strong spirit, and the love she showed to those around her. Her legacy as a nurturing mother, grandmother, educator, and friend will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Greta Stoliar’s memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends, as well as by those whose lives she touched through her work in education and her warm, caring nature.
